 INTRODUCTION

Since its creation in 1998, the consolidated research group, "Sociolinguistics" of the Universitat Jaume I, aims to study Spanish's synchronic and diachronic variation from different perspectives: sociolinguistics, dialectology and pragmatics.

It is currently made up of the following professors: José Luis Blas Arroyo (leading researcher), Isabel Andúgar, Elia Puertas Ribés, Agnese Sampietro, Kim Schulte, Mónica Velando Casanovas and Javier Vellón Lahoz.

The group is currently working on the project "Socio-stylistic, idiolectal and discursive components in linguistic variation and change in Spanish: contributions from historical sociolinguistics", funded by the Agencia Estatal de Investigación and FEDER funds A way of doing Europe (Ref. PID2021-122597NB-I00).
